LIFETOUCH NATIONAL SCHOOL STUDIOS INC. TO CLOSE OKLAHOMA FACILITY

MINNEAPOLIS, January 6, 2009 — Lifetouch National School Studios Inc., the nation’s largest provider of school photography, announced today plans to close its Tulsa, Oklahoma, production facility effective March 7, 2009.

“The decision to close the Tulsa plant  was difficult,” said Ertugrul Tuzcu, President and COO of Lifetouch National School Studios. “We appreciate the many contributions of our employees who have made this operation and Lifetouch an important part of their lives for nearly 20 years. We will be meeting personally with each and every employee to thank them for their years of service and to assist them through this transition.”
The Tulsa plant, which opened in 1965 as Enterprise School Photos and was acquired in 1989 by Lifetouch National School Studios, currently employs approximately 130 employees who process school portraits.

“We regularly evaluate local and national market changes to most effectively serve our customers,” Tuzcu said. “As our company has transitioned into digital photography and digital printing, our operations have become streamlined and we can produce this volume at our other facilities. And even though this is difficult, we are obligated to make prudent business decisions on behalf of our employee shareholders.”
“This change will not affect the outstanding customer service and local sales presence Lifetouch has been known for in the Oklahoma area but it clearly affects the lives of our employees in Tulsa who have been an important part of our business for many years,” Tuzcu said.
